NEIGHBOUR'S WINDOWS
The `Neighbour's windows` collection
The collection is based on areal research of habits and design choices of people who live in the Capital area of Finland. In order to demonstrate the volume and realistic likeness I am using all my knowledge of textiles and embroidery which I collected throughout the years of work.
When I found the first window frame it stroke me - I wanted to see the embroidery in this old wooden embrace. Each scratch tells a story of this old window and I can only imagine what was there behind some time ago. What do you see through your neighbour's window? You can look through one and find beautifully set table and some freshly cut flowers. Through mine you can see how stitch by stitch is coming to life a new art piece.
